Shree Gundicha Project On Track

Puri: In a profound display of spiritual commitment, the Chief Administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, continues his tireless service to the Lord without a single day of rest.

Driven by a deep sense of devotion, Dr. Padhee has immersed himself in the sacred task of overseeing various developmental projects and the upcoming Rath Jatra preparations, ensuring that the divinity and heritage of Puri remain preserved for generations of devotees.

OBCC is implementing the project. OBCC MD Shri Anupam Shah. Puri District Magistrate, Shri Dibya Jyoti Parida and other senior officers attended the meeting.

For Dr. Padhee, serving the Lord of the Universe is a mission that transcends the boundaries of a typical office schedule. His dedication was evident as he reviewed the progress of essential projects at the Shree Gundicha Temple, including the construction of the Ballav Ghar, Tunia Mahal, and the Kitchen Annex.

In a move to honor the ancient artistic legacy of Odisha, it was decided that all new constructions would strictly adhere to the traditional Kalinga style of architecture, ensuring that every stone laid resonates with the spiritual vibration of the shrine.

The review also covered the progress of the Jagannatha Ballav Pilgrim Center (JBPC) and the Baseli Sahi Dharmashala, projects designed to provide comfort and shelter to the waves of pilgrims who travel from afar to seek a glimpse of the Trinity. Furthermore, steps are being taken to secure the sites for the Jagannath Ballav Pramoda Udyan and the Adarsha Gurukul at Matitota, ensuring a holistic environment for both education and spiritual recreation.

With the guidance of Gajapati Maharaja and technical experts scheduled for the coming week, the administration remains steadfast in its goal to complete these projects before the grand Chariot Festival. In the service of Lord Jagannatha, Dr. Padhee’s unwavering presence serves as a bridge between administrative duty and divine surrender, proving that for a true sevayat, the work of the Lord knows no holidays.

Understanding that the structural safety of the 12th-century temple is inseparable from its religious sanctity, Dr. Padhee met with the Director General of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Dr. Yadubir Singh Rawat at Delhi recently.

This high-level interaction focused on streamlining critical conservation efforts while balancing the profound emotional sentiments of millions of Odias. A primary focus was the immediate restoration of the Bhoga Mandapa, the sanctified hall where offerings are presented to the Lord.

Recognizing the vulnerability of the centuries-old masonry, he urged the ASI to prioritize its protection to prevent any further weathering of this holy space.
