Kendrapara: In a significant move to uphold the sacred traditions of Tulasi Kshetra, the State Government has sanctioned a special grant of one crore rupees for the construction of a new Brahma Taladhwaj Rath for Lord Baladev Jew in Kendrapara. This decision marks a pivotal moment for the ancient shrine, ensuring that the divine journey of the deities continues without the technical interruptions that have marked recent years.
Law, Works, and Excise Minister Shri Prithviraj Harichandan shared that the structural integrity of the existing chariot’s 14 wheels had become a cause for concern. These mechanical issues frequently hampered the smooth movement of the Rath, leading to delays that saw the chariot reaching the Mausima Mandir two days behind schedule. Similar hurdles were encountered during the return journey, or Bahuda Jatra, causing distress among the servitors and the massive gathering of devotees.
The newly allocated funds are dedicated to ensuring that the construction of the Brahma Taladhwaj Rath meets the highest standards of craftsmanship and safety. By addressing these structural needs, the government aims to preserve the sanctity of the rituals and ensure that the Lord’s journey is conducted with the dignity and punctuality it deserves. The Law Department has already issued specific instructions to streamline the process and begin the holy work.
Minister Shri Harichandan emphasized that the state remains deeply committed to safeguarding the unique customs and spiritual heritage associated with the Baladev Jew temple. He noted that this development is a source of immense joy for the global community of devotees who hold the presiding deity of Kendrapara in high esteem. This gesture is seen not just as an administrative approval, but as an act of devotion to ensure the glory of the Brahma Taladhwaj Rath shines brightly for years to come.
