Dev Leads Odisha AI

New Delhi: Shri Vishal Dev, Additional Chief Secretary, Electronics and Information Technology, is spearheading Odisha’s ambitious entry onto the national stage at the India AI Impact Summit 2026. Under his guidance, the state is showcasing its comprehensive vision and technological preparedness through a dedicated Odisha Pavilion at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, running from February 16–20.

The pavilion highlights the Odisha – From AI to Impact strategy, an initiative led by Shri Dev that focuses on transitioning AI from theoretical pilots to large-scale, real-world deployments. This approach targets essential sectors such as governance, healthcare, agriculture, education, disaster management, and urban infrastructure, all supported by a structured implementation model and strong institutional capacity.

A primary objective for ACS E&IT, Shri Dev at the summit is the promotion of Odisha’s strategic collaboration with Sarvam. This partnership reflects the state’s commitment to building sovereign AI capabilities and developing Odia-language AI applications at a population scale. These efforts are designed to establish Odisha as a premier AI hub, with long-term goals centered on advanced AI infrastructure and significant compute power.

The pavilion also features more than ten innovation startups and ecosystem entities. This group, which includes research organizations and technology partners, illustrates the expanding innovation pipeline ACS E&IT, Shri Dev is cultivating to democratize access to AI technologies and resources across the state.

The Government of Odisha will provide a more detailed announcement on February 18, 2026. This update will offer further clarity on the showcased use-cases, emerging ecosystem partnerships, and future opportunities within the state’s AI landscape.
