ACS Dr.Padhee Takes Revenue Charge

Bhubaneswar: In a significant administrative transition, Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee assumed the charge of Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Department of Revenue and Disaster Management on February 6. Dr. Padhee, who previously served as the ACS for Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, is widely regarded as an upright and empathetic administrator.

Upon his arrival, Dr. Padhee was greeted by a stack of personal grievance petitions addressed to him by name, reflecting the deep public trust and high expectations the citizens of Odisha place in his leadership. This immediate influx of requests underscores his reputation as a pro-people officer capable of delivering effective solutions.

In his maiden interaction with the officers and staff of the department, Dr. Padhee emphasized a three-pronged professional philosophy: Integrity, Professionalism, and Sensitivity (IPS). He urged his team to internalize these values to ensure that the administrative machinery remains responsive to the needs of the common man.

Furthering his commitment to the state’s cultural heritage and sustainable living, Dr. Padhee advised employees to wear Odisha’s handloom attire at least once a week, specifically on Fridays. This initiative aims to support local weavers and promote the state’s rich fabric traditions. His administrative vision also extends to environmental stewardship, as he issued directives to eliminate the use of plastic and prevent water wastage within the office premises.

Demonstrating a hands-on leadership style, the ACS Dr.Padhee personally inspected the department corridors to monitor energy conservation efforts. He instructed staff to ensure that fans and lights are switched off when leaving their offices, championing a “save electricity” culture.

Dr. Padhee also met with the Minister of Revenue and Disaster Management, Shri Suresh Pujari. The meeting focused on transforming the revenue administration into a more proactive and people-centric wing of the government.

The synergy between the Minister Shri Pujari and the ACS Dr.Padhee, both known for their public-oriented focus, signals a new era of transparency and efficiency for the Revenue Administration in Odisha.
