Bhubaneswar: Industry leaders and experts in Odisha have hailed the Union Budget 2026-27 as a futuristic and growth-oriented roadmap for the nation.
FICCI Odisha State Council & UCCIL organized the “Decoding Union Budget 2026” on 5 February 2026 in the UCCIL Conference Hall, Bhubaneswar organized to analyze the fiscal policy.
Eminent Industrialist, Dr. Prabodh Mohanty, President of the Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited (UCCIL) and Managing Director of the SNM Group, described the budget as inclusive and focused on long-term stability.
UCCIL Chief, Dr. Mohanty noted that the budget places significant emphasis on infrastructure development, job creation, and support for MSMEs, which is expected to stimulate economic growth and boost investor confidence. He specifically highlighted the positive impact these measures will have on the industry at large and the mining sector in particular.
Echoing these sentiments, Shrimati Pragyan Paramita Mishra, Chairperson of FICCI FLO Bhubaneswar Chapter and Managing Director of Carcinova Cancer Hospital, characterized the budget as a forward-thinking document. She emphasized its potential to drive women-led development and noted the substantial implications for the healthcare sector.
The session also featured technical insights from experts at PwC India. Shri Diparun Mukerjee discussed the direct tax implications, while Shri Satuya Narayan Gupta explained the changes regarding indirect taxes.
Other participants, including Shri A K Sabat, Shri L G Shah, and Shri Gyana Ranjan Mohanty, shared their perspectives on how the fiscal measures would influence trade and small businesses.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Shri Sanjaya Satapathy, Co-Chair of the FICCI Odisha State Council.
