Bhubaneswar: Ekamra Vatika Premier Pre-School on 31 January celebrated its annual function, titled ‘Thrive,’ in a vibrant display of talent, learning, and community spirit. The event served as a significant milestone for the institution, marking both a reflection on a successful year and a bold step forward into primary education.
The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome from Shrimati Meghan Singh Deo, Chairperson of the Ekamra Vatika. Addressing a gathering of parents and distinguished guests, she emphasized the holistic growth of children as the core mission of the school.
Among the dignitaries, Shrimati Tanaya Patnaik, Editor, Sambad and Kanak TV, Shri Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, Senior Lawmaker and NRAI President, Shri Manmath Vijaya Singh Deo, Managing Director Hotel Prachi and others graced the occasion.
Reflecting on the academic year 2025, she described it as a period of immense activity and achievement, highlighted by successful sports meets, cultural exhibitions, and diverse extracurricular programs that have shaped the students’ early developmental years.
In a major announcement that resonated with the audience, the Chairperson Shrimati Singh Deo shared that the school is expanding its horizons by introducing Grade I. This transition from a purely pre-school environment to formal primary schooling was met with visible enthusiasm and a sense of shared optimism among the parent community.

Under the leadership of Chairperson Shrimati Meghna Singh Deo, Ekamra Vatika is officially transitioning from a premier pre-school to a foundational primary institution. The introduction of Grade I represents a strategic expansion designed to provide students with a seamless academic journey, ensuring that the school’s signature focus on holistic development continues into the primary years.
This scaling effort follows a highly successful 2025, a year characterized by a robust integration of sports, cultural arts, and extracurricular excellence. By moving beyond the pre-school model, the institution is responding to strong parental demand for a curriculum that balances rigorous academic standards with the “whole child” philosophy.
The expansion is not merely about adding classrooms but about elevating the educational environment. Singh Deo’s vision involves a future-ready framework where physical strength, emotional intelligence, and environmental awareness—themes central to the recent Thrive showcase—are embedded into the formal Grade I syllabus. This growth marks the beginning of a new chapter for the school, positioning it as a key player in the city’s primary education landscape.

The event also featured insightful perspectives on modern parenting and child health. Shrimati Tanaya Patnaik, Editor of Sambad and Kanak TV, addressed the gathering on two critical contemporary issues: the rising impact of screen time on young minds and the growing craze for fast food among children. Her address served as a gentle call to action for families to prioritize digital wellness and nutritional awareness in an increasingly fast-paced world.

The cultural segment of the evening was a choreographed journey through values and mindfulness. Students took to the stage to perform a series of themed acts that went beyond mere entertainment. The ‘Dance of Togetherness and Belonging’ and songs dedicated to ‘Kindness and Joy’ illustrated the social-emotional learning integrated into the school’s curriculum.
Further performances focused on the school’s connection to the environment and physical well-being. A dance themed around ‘Gratitude and Learning from Nature’ showcased the students’ environmental consciousness, while a rhythmic piece on ‘Physical Strength and Movement’ highlighted the importance of active lifestyles. The program also included segments on ‘Compassion and Awareness,’ emphasizing the development of the ‘whole child.’

The celebration reached its peak with a grand finale, a cultural extravaganza that brought together all the themes of the evening. The event concluded on a high note, leaving parents and educators inspired by the collective growth and the promising future of the students as they prepare to enter new opening.
