Rourkela: The industrial landscape of Western Odisha took center stage today as the 25th edition of Enterprise Odisha officially commenced in Rourkela. Organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in partnership with the Government of Odisha, the event serves as a critical platform for showcasing the state’s burgeoning manufacturing capabilities, technological advancements, and investment potential across diverse sectors.

The inaugural proceedings were marked by a traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi. Minister Industries shri Sampad Swain, ACS Industries, Home and I&PR, Shri Hemant Sharma, and other government officials and industry captains led by SNM Group Chairman, Dr.Pradipta Kumar Mohanty.

Chief Minister Shri Majhi and Team Odisha conducted an extensive tour of the exhibition floor, engaging with representatives from various sectors including steel, mining, healthcare, and sustainable consumer products.

A key highlight of the opening day was the emphasis on technological integration in heavy industry. Exhibitors demonstrated innovations in Industry by SNM Group, mechanized mining, specialized medical equipment from institutions like Sushruta Hospital and Trauma Care, and power generation solutions. The event also highlighted local entrepreneurship through the participation of the Mahi Group, showcasing innovative consumer goods such as bottled coconut water, signaling a diversification of the regional economy beyond its traditional industrial roots.

The exhibition area witnessed significant footfall from industry professionals, stakeholders, and a large contingent of students and aspiring entrepreneurs. This high level of engagement underscores the event’s role in fostering a vibrant industrial ecosystem and bridging the gap between established corporations and the next generation of workforce talent.

The evening transition featured a cultural program that integrated traditional Odissi and folk dance performances with the industrial theme, emphasizing the state’s heritage alongside its modernization efforts. Recognition was also given to key contributors of the event, with formal presentations of mementos to dignitaries and organizers.

Running through January 30, Enterprise Odisha is expected to facilitate numerous business-to-business (B2B) meetings and strategic partnerships. As Odisha continues its push toward becoming a global manufacturing hub, the Rourkela edition of this flagship event stands as a testament to the strategic importance of the Sundargarh district in the state’s economic roadmap. Industry experts anticipate that the discussions and displays held over the coming days will pave the way for future investments in smart manufacturing and sustainable industrial practices within the region.
