Bhubaneswar: Principal Secretary Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare, Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh has emphasized the importance of providing timely services to the public and ensuring the swift resolution of consumer grievances.
A review meeting of the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department was held today at Lok Seva Bhawan under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary Shri Singh. The session focused on evaluating various departmental operations and enhancing service delivery mechanisms.
During the meeting, Shri Singh urged officials to prioritize the needs of the citizens and maintain high standards of accountability in all departmental functions.
Addressing financial matters, the Principal Secretary highlighted the need for the proper utilization of budgeted funds. He directed officials to maintain strict financial discipline and keep accurate records of all expenditures. He further instructed financial advisors and senior officers to provide necessary guidance to district-level officials to ensure fiscal transparency across the state.
A key point of discussion was the timely submission of Utilization Certificates (UCs) for allocated funds. Shri Singh underscored that the prompt filing of these certificates is essential for maintaining accurate accounts and facilitating future fund releases. He advised officers to work in close coordination with district administrations to streamline this process.
The meeting was attended by Shri K. Sudarshan Chakravarthy, Managing Director of the Odisha State Civil Supplies Corporation, along with other senior departmental officers.
