New Delhi: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Tuesday lauded the election of Shri Nitin Nabin as the new National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Addressing party workers at the BJP headquarters here, the Prime Minister described the 45-year-old leader from Bihar as a millennial boss and a symbol of the party’s democratic and worker-centric ethos.
Nabin, who succeeds J.P. Nadda, becomes the youngest ever National President in the history of the BJP. His formal takeover followed an unopposed election process where his candidature was backed by top leaders including Home Minister Shri Amit Shah and Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh.
During the ceremony, Prime Minister Shri Modi emphasized that in the organizational structure of the party, Nabin is now the leader of all members, including himself.
He noted that the transition reflects a generational shift, highlighting Nabin’s journey from a grassroots activist in the youth wing to a five-time legislator and minister.
The Prime Minister remarked that Nabin belongs to a generation that grew up listening to the radio and is now adept at using artificial intelligence, making him uniquely equipped to lead the party toward the goal of a developed India by 2047.
The Prime Minister also pointed out that Nabin’s rise is a testament to the BJP’s internal meritocracy, contrasting it with dynastic politics found elsewhere.
He expressed confidence that Nabin’s extensive organizational experience, particularly his successful stints as an in-charge in states like Chhattisgarh, would prove to be a major asset for the party’s future electoral and social endeavors.
Nitin Nabin, an MLA from Patna’s Bankipur constituency, is the first leader from Bihar to hold the top organizational post. In his first address as president, he expressed gratitude to the central leadership and pledged to strengthen the party’s coordination with its National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners while expanding its presence across the country.
