Sambalpur: Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, during his two-day visit to Sambalpur, today inaugurated the newly constructed modern Trauma Care Center and OPD building at Sambalpur District Headquarters Hospital.
It is worth noting that the government has spent a total of Rs 21.28 crore for the construction of the Trauma Care Center and OPD. Through this, accident victims will get immediate and proper medical facilities. Along with this, the CSSD (Central Sterile Supply Department) building built at a cost of Rs 2.53 crore was also inaugurated in the hospital premises. Various medical supplies and equipment will be cleaned and sterilized here using modern systems.
Giving a statement to the media on the occasion of the inauguration, the Chief Minister said that due to the increasing accident rate in recent times, the need for Trauma Care Centers has increased in every district. Its main objective is to provide immediate and assured treatment to accident victims.
The Chief Minister further said that within 13 days of assuming office, after consulting the Health Department, it has been decided to set up Trauma Care Centers in all government medical colleges, district headquarters hospitals and other big government hospitals in the state. Steps are being taken to open a total of 89 modern Trauma Care Centers in the state. This will reduce the number of deaths and injuries due to accidents and the injured will get better treatment in time.
He further said that while the state government is upgrading various hospitals to strengthen the health infrastructure, today’s inauguration of the new OPD building of Sambalpur Hospital is also a part of it. The Chief Minister expressed hope that with all this new health infrastructure, the people of Sambalpur district will be able to get quality and modern services in the field of healthcare.
Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Shri Suresh Pujari, Panchayati Raj, Drinking Water and Rural Development Minister Shri Rabi Narayan Naik, Sambalpur MLA Shri Jayanarayan Mishra, former MLA Shri Nauri Naik, District Collector Shri Siddheshwar Baliram Bondar were prominently present on this occasion.
