Rairakhol: Union Minister of Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, carried out an extensive tour of the Rairakhol area in Sambalpur district, launching a series of initiatives aimed at revolutionizing the health and education landscape of western Odisha.
The visit underscored a dual focus on critical emergency infrastructure and the holistic well-being of the younger generation.
In fact the tour was marked by a show of collaborative governance and local leadership. Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MLA from Rairakhol and Deputy Leader of Opposition, Shri Prasanna Acharya, was present throughout the visit, reflecting a unified approach toward regional development projects.
Additionally, the Minister for Rural Development, Shri Rabi Narayan Naik, along with several senior BJP leaders, accompanied Shri Pradhan. This collective presence underscored the high priority the government places on the infrastructure and educational needs of the Sambalpur district.

A major highlight of the visit was the foundation stone laying ceremony for a state of the art Trauma Care Unit in Rairakhol. This facility is designed to address a long standing need for immediate medical intervention in the region, particularly for accident victims and emergency cases.
Shri Pradhan emphasized that providing quality medical services during the golden hour is vital for saving lives. The establishment of this unit is expected to reduce the dependency on distant medical centers, ensuring that the residents of Sambalpur and surrounding areas have access to high level surgical and emergency care within their own locality.

Continuing his focus on the education sector, the Union Minister inaugurated the newly established Odisha Adarsh Vidyalaya (OAV) at Rairakhol Rampur. This school is part of a broader vision to provide quality English medium education to rural students, bridging the gap between urban and rural learning opportunities.
During his interaction with the students, Shri Pradhan took a personal interest in their well-being by distributing fruits and discussing the importance of nutrition. He remarked that education and health are the two pillars upon which a child’s progress is built.
The Minister stated that it is a collective moral responsibility for society and the government to ensure children have access to nutritious food.
He highlighted that a healthy body is essential for a sharp mind, and only through this combination can students achieve a bright future.
He lauded the cultural and historical significance of the Rairakhol region, noting that its progress is central to the development of a Samruddha Odisha (Prosperous Odisha).
