DCM Lauds SUM Ultimate

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has unveiled an ambitious plan to establish world-class diagnostic and testing centers in every district across the state by 2036.

This announcement was made by Deputy Chief Minister Parvati Parida on Sunday during the inaugural function of the two-day Summit-2025 on Imaging and Interventional Therapy, organized by Sum Ultimate Medicare in collaboration with the Odisha Radiology and Imaging Association.

Speaking as the chief guest, Smt.Parida noted that these targets are part of the Vision Odisha 2036 roadmap. She emphasized that the state is committed to integrating digital technologies such as telemedicine and tele-technology into the healthcare system of every district to boost medical education and research. The goal is to position Odisha as a regional hub for modern, affordable, and compassionate medical services.

During the event, the Deputy Chief Minister was welcomed by Professor (Dr.)Manojranjan Nayak, Founder President Siksha O Anusandhan (SOA) University.

Smt.Parida also highlighted the significance of mental health support for both the general public and healthcare professionals. She further commended Sum Ultimate Medicare for its contributions to medical tourism, noting that patients from neighboring states including West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Bihar frequently seek treatment at the facility.

Dr. Shwetapadma Dash, CEO of SUMUM, delivered the welcome address centered on the theme of advanced patient care through interventional radiology and cardiac imaging. She shared that the hospital has expanded to 575 beds within just five years and remains dedicated to global standards in healthcare delivery and research.

The conference saw participation from several prominent medical figures, including Dr. Amar Mukund, President-elect of the Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, and Dr. Praful Kumar Das, President of the Odisha Radiology and Imaging Association.

Expert sessions provided information on the latest cardiac imaging techniques and interventional radiology. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sambit Kumar Pattanayak, Organizing Secretary of the summit.
