AU, Aarkesh Assure Balangir Fire Victims

Bhubaneswar: Former Minister Shri A U Singh Deo assured the fruit vendor victims of help following the major fire that broke out at the fruit market near Balangir’s old bus stand. Shri Singh Deo and Youth Leader Shri Aarkesh Narayan Singh Deo visited the burnt market to discuss the situation with the shopkeepers.

Over fifty fruit shops were completely destroyed and burnt to ashes in the massive blaze. The fire brigade was unable to contain the fire despite their efforts. Following the destruction, the fruit shopkeepers blocked the road, demanding compensation.

Former Minister Anang Uday Singhdeo, accompanied by Biju Janta Dal youth leader Arkesh Narayan Singhdeo, spoke with the affected traders at the market.

Arkesh Narayan Singhdeo promised all-out support and stated that he would discuss with the district administration to secure necessary compensation for the traders.

Bolangir MLA Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo also assured shop owners over the phone that he would utilize his MLA Local Area Development (LAD) funds for compensation. Furthermore, the Collector is expected to provide funds from various sources.

In addition to this support, Mayor Lika Sahu announced that the municipality would provide ten thousand rupees to the affected shopkeepers.

The District Administration has stated that an investigation is necessary to determine the cause of the daytime fire. Former Minister Shri Singhdeo also mentioned that discussions would be held to make arrangements to prevent similar accidents from occurring in the future.
