Malkangiri: In a major boost to healthcare in remote areas, a team of specialist doctors from Sri Ramachandra Bhanja Medical College and Hospital (SCB MCH) arrived today at the District Headquarters Hospital in Malkangiri under the ‘Chief Minister Bayu Health Service Scheme’.
This air-facilitated mission is aimed at bringing high-quality specialist and super-specialist medical services directly to the residents of this far-flung, Maoist-hit district.
The multi-disciplinary team includes experts and their assistants from the Anaesthesia, Urology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, and Cardiology departments. The medical personnel are scheduled to remain in the district until the 6th of December, providing specialised consultations and treatment.
The initiative witnessed an overwhelming response on its first day, with more than 500 patients from various parts of the district registering since this afternoon to avail the much-needed specialist services.
The ‘CM Air Health Care’ scheme is scripting a success story by ensuring that patients in areas with limited medical infrastructure receive care from top specialists, bridging the existing healthcare gap. The local administration has made extensive arrangements for the stay and effective functioning of the medical team, reinforcing the government’s commitment to equitable healthcare access for all citizens.
