Bhubaneswar: The state government is making extensive efforts for paddy procurement during the current Kharif season, ensuring registered farmers are able to sell their produce and receive their dues promptly. To bolster this process, millers have pledged their cooperation in the paddy collection drive.
This commitment followed a detailed discussion between workers of the Odisha Rice Millers Association and the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister, Shri Krishna Chandra Patra. The meeting, held in the Minister’s office at Lok Seva Bhawan, focused entirely on the logistics and execution of paddy collection.
The Millers Association assured the Minister of their complete support and cooperation in the procurement process. A significant part of the discussion also centered on measures to safeguard the interests of the farmers.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including Principal Secretary, Food Supply and Consumer Welfare, Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, and Managing Director, Odisha State Civil Supplies Corporation, Shri Sudarshan Chakravarthy. Representing the Odisha Rice Millers Association were President Shri Mahesh Kumar Bansal and General Secretary Shri Laxminarayan Deepak Ranjan Das.
