The valedictory session was graced by Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment, Smt. Anu Garg, Development Commissioner and Shri Vishal Kumar Dev, Principal Secretary, Electronics & IT and Energy Department. Dr.Prabodh Kumar Mohanty, President, Utkal Chamber Of Commerce & Industry Limited (UCCIL) chaired the Meeting.
Shri Singh Deo said, “We are moving from a resource economy to a knowledge economy. It is a fundamental repositioning. Odisha has the highest capital investment ratio. Our government has set an ambitious target for 2036—it is not an aspiration without accountability. We need investment in agro-tourism. Odisha is an agriculture-surplus state, successfully transforming from an importer to a net exporter.”
He emphasised the need for strong industry–academia integration to develop a skilled manpower base that supports the state’s accelerated industrialisation.
Shri Gokulananda Mallik, Minister MSME, said, “To make Odisha prosperous, we need the collective support of citizens along with the government. Large industries must support downstream industries and procure from local MSMEs. I urge students to acquire new-age skills. Vocal for Local and Self-Reliance will pave the way for a prosperous and empowered Odisha.”
Smt. Garg said, “The Government has set an ambitious target to reach a USD 500 billion economy by 2036 and USD 1.5 trillion by 2047, increasing Odisha’s contribution to national GDP from the current 3.8% to 4% and 5% respectively. To achieve this, we must grow at 9.5–10% annually—higher than the current 7%. We also envision raising the per capita income from ₹1.8 lakh to ₹2.32 lakh to make Odisha truly prosperous.”
She stressed the importance of job creation and urged stronger private sector participation.
Shri Dev said, “In recent years, Odisha has successfully positioned itself as a leading state for Electronics, IT, and semiconductor investments. We have competitive policies for IT, GCCs, and AI. As a power-surplus state, we provide reliable and affordable electricity supported by strong infrastructure and a favourable regulatory environment. We have approved three semiconductor projects, and four more are in the pipeline.”
He highlighted Odisha’s strong fiscal position and its ability to offer attractive incentives.
