Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi emphasized the importance of honesty and integrity in public service while addressing newly recruited government personnel at the 12th Recruitment Fair and Training Program-2025 in Bhubaneswar today.
Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Shri Satyabrata Sahu, welcomed the attendees and detailed out the massive employment drive unleashed by the State Government.
A total of 7,293 people were appointed across 12 state government departments. Key appointments included 1,979 constables and 386 drivers in the Home Department; 1,913 graduate teachers and 241 PGTs in the School and Public Education Department; 1,504 Forest Guards and 246 Foresters in the Forest and Environment Department; and 648 Animal Husbandry Inspectors in the Fisheries and Livestock Department, among others. The Advocate General’s Office also saw the appointment of its first 40 stenographers through the regular recruitment process.
Addressing the new recruits at the Kalinga Stadium, the Chief Minister reaffirmed his government’s commitment to youth employment, citing a target of 65,000 government jobs in two years. He noted that 37,325 people have been provided employment through 12 recruitment fairs in the last 17 months, a record number for such a short period. He also mentioned efforts to boost employment in the industrial sector, ensuring jobs for one and a half lakh youth through projects worth ₹2 lakh crore.
Shri Majhi stressed the government’s zero tolerance policy against corruption, advising the newly appointed officials to treat corruption as “poison.” He offered four pieces of advice: serve people in a friendly and fair manner, strive for excellence in work, always expand knowledge and utilize time, and maintain honesty and cleanliness in duty.
Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment Shri Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo welcomed the officials, urging them to prioritize serving the people and providing due justice. Minister for Schools and Public Education Shri Nityananda Gond said the process of filling staff shortages, especially in the education department, is being expedited to ensure quality education. Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Shri Gokulananda Mallick and Minister for Forest and Environment Shri Ganeshram Singh Khuntia congratulated the recruits and encouraged them to fulfill their duties with responsibility, sincerity, and cleanliness.
The Chief Minister personally presented appointment letters to 30 individuals. Newly appointed officials, including Banasingh Majhi (Home Department), Sasmita Pradhan (School and Public Education Department), Devendra Podiami (Forest Department), and Anvesha Roy (Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Department), shared their experiences and expressed gratitude for the government’s transparent recruitment process.
