Bhubaneswar: Odisha Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi has approved the establishment of a dedicated recruiting agency, the Odisha Uniformed Services Staff Selection Commission (OUSSSC), to streamline recruitment for various uniformed services in the state. This decision comes in response to issues like abnormal delays and irregularities observed in examinations currently conducted by different departmental boards.
The OUSSSC will operate under the administrative control of the General Administration & Public Grievance Department. Its mandate is to select officers and personnel for different ranks in various uniformed services under the Home Department, Excise Department, Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department, and Commerce & Transport Department.
The main objective behind creating this Commission is to ensure timely, transparent, efficient, and merit-based recruitment across all uniformed services in Odisha. This will be achieved through a standardized, technology-driven, and accountable process.
To bring this commission into effect, the government has approved the framing of the Odisha Uniformed Services Staff Selection Commission Rules, 2025.
