Bhubaneswar: The Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited (UCCIL) has officially announced the upcoming two-day conclave, ‘Samruddha Odisha 2036,’ a major initiative aimed at accelerating the state’s economic transformation towards its centennial year. The event is scheduled to take place on November 25th and 26th, 2025, at the Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar.
The overarching theme for the conclave is centered on the idea that “Odisha is on the path of transformation — where innovation meets opportunity, and progress empowers every citizen.”
Dr. Prabodh Mohanty, the President of UCCIL and a prominent figure in the state’s industrial landscape, will be leading the show. Dr. Mohanty and the Chamber are spearheading a movement that seeks collaborative effort from industry, government, and citizens to realize the vision of a ‘Developed Odisha’ with a target of achieving a $500 Billion Economy by 2036.
UCCIL Chief Dr. Mohanty’s policy focus, which will be central to the event’s discussions, highlights several key areas essential for this goal:
Enhancing logistics infrastructure, particularly the development of inland waterways and advanced road networks, is crucial for the efficient movement of raw materials, especially from the mineral-rich regions, and to support the state’s massive steel production targets.
The need to embrace digital transformation, including the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Blockchain, across the mining, metals, and service sectors is a priority for driving efficiency and sustainable growth.
The UCCIL is committed to strengthening the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, viewing it as a vital engine for economic diversification, job creation, and integrating local businesses into global and national value chains.
Promoting sustainable industrial practices and accelerating the adoption of green technologies is essential to ensure that growth is climate-positive and competitive on a global scale.
The ‘Samruddha Odisha 2036’ conclave is set to be a significant platform for policy deliberation, investment announcements, and networking, aiming to foster the resilience and entrepreneurial spirit necessary for the state to achieve its long-term development aspirations .
