DDWS Campaign Scripts Success

New Delhi: The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS), under the direct guidance of Secretary Shri Ashok Kumar Meena, successfully concluded the nationwide Special Campaign 5.0 (SC 5.0) which ran from October 2nd to October 31st, 2025. The campaign focused on improving governance through the timely resolution of pending references, better record management, and extensive cleanliness initiatives.

Shri Meena personally oversaw the campaign’s progress, including conducting a review visit to the DDWS office space in Pt. Deen Dayal Antyodaya Bhawan on October 10th, 2025. His leadership and commitment were evident from the symbolic launch of the campaign on October 2nd, 2025, which involved a cleanliness drive at Sanitation Park near Pt. Deen Dayal Antyodaya Bhawan, CGO Complex, New Delhi. This initial action set the tone for efficiency and transparency across all operational levels.

A significant outcome achieved under his supervision was the streamlining of space and records. The campaign successfully cleared 120 square feet of office space and weeded out 100 physical files, substantially reducing physical clutter. Furthermore, the systematic disposal of unserviceable assets and scrap, including e-waste, generated a revenue of ₹ 3,73,706, fully meeting and exceeding targets in these areas.

Under Shri Meena’s direction, the Department achieved high success in resolving pending communications. It cleared 410 Public Grievances (PG) and 50 PG Appeals. Crucially, prompt action was ensured on high-priority communications, with the clearance of 16 VIP references, 3 PMO references, and 2 State Government references.

The Department has renewed its commitment to maintain the momentum and spirit of the Special Campaign 5.0 throughout the year, a pledge that ensures the gains in efficiency, organization, and responsiveness become permanent fixtures of the work culture championed by Secretary Shri Meena.
