BPNSI Shares Steel Knowledge

Cuttack: The Biju Patnaik National Steel Institute (BPNSI), under the Ministry of Steel, Government of India, organized a one-day Knowledge Sharing Workshop as part of its Professional Pre-Program (3P) at Beekay Steel Industries Limited (BKSIL) in Raj Athagarh, Cuttack, Odisha, today.

The workshop was inaugurated by Shri Manoranjan Mishra, Deputy General Manager of Human Resource Management at BKSIL. On behalf of BPNSI, Professor Satyapriya Satapathy delivered the inaugural speech and outlined the day’s program schedule to the working professionals of BKSIL.

The morning session focused on steel production technologies. Dr. Rama Krushna Sabata, Associate Professor from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar, presented a lecture on Emerging Technologies of DRI (Direct Reduced Iron) production process.

Following this, Professor Satyapriya Satapathy of BPNSI presented on Energy Efficient Technologies in the DRI process to the assembled BKSIL working professionals.

The afternoon session featured an extensive interactive class led by Dr. Ramakrushna Sabata. He presented on topics including Induction Furnace, Ladle Refining Furnace, Electric Induction Furnace (EIF), Continuous Casting, and rolling to the engineers of BKSIL.

Shri Saroj Kumar Panda, Manager-Environment of BKSIL, coordinated the BPNSI Knowledge Sharing Workshop.
