Prep For Chem Emergency

New Delhi: In a significant step toward bolstering national preparedness for chemical emergencies, the Secretary of Health and Family Welfare, alongside key senior officials from various line ministries, national agencies, experts from the private sector, industry, and academia, today released specialized training modules on the Public Health Management of Chemical Emergencies at Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi.

Chemical emergencies present an evolving and significant threat to public health, environmental safety, and societal stability. The release of these modules underscores the government’s recognition of the paramount importance of updating and maintaining preparedness in the face of the fast-growing industrial economy.

Three specialized training modules have been developed by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India. This initiative was undertaken in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and with technical support from the World Health Organization (WHO India). The modules aim to strengthen national preparedness and response mechanisms by providing comprehensive training for effective public health management during such crises.
