Bhubaneswar: State employees and pensioners have received a Diwali festival gift with Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi announcing a three percent increase in dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (TI).
The increase raises the dearness allowance for state government employees from 55 percent to 58 percent. This revision will be implemented retrospectively from July 1, 2025. The increased dearness allowance will be paid in cash with the current October salary.
Prior to this announcement, the state government had announced a two percent DA hike in April 2025, which raised the DA from 53 percent to 55 percent, effective retrospectively from January 1, 2025.
The latest decision is expected to benefit approximately eight and a half lakh government employees and pensioners across the state.
