Bhubaneswar: The Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ltd. (UCCIL) President Dr.Prabodh Mohanty honoured Miss Liza Maria Powell, Director Trade and Investment – Education, Australian High Commission & Australian Trade and Investment Commission India.
Ms.Liza Maria Powel called on UCCIL President Dr.Mohanty on 13 October and held detailed discussion on scope of Trade and Investment and related issues.
The Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ltd. (UCCIL) is all set to deepen its engagement with Australia following a highly productive interactive session featuring Dr. Prabodh Mohanty and Miss Liza Maria Powell.

Miss Liza Maria Powell emphasized the Australian Trade Commission’s commitment to working closely with UCCIL and its associated training and education institutes. She outlined key areas for collaboration, including exchange programs, training and skill development, and scholarships for higher education in Australia, stating that a clear roadmap would be developed to achieve these goals.
UCCIL President Dr. Prabodh Mohanty welcomed the proposal, expressing confidence that the esteemed members of UCCIL would be significantly benefited by the collaboration. Shri J.K Rath, Vice President Industry, officially welcomed the Australian Diplomat and the visiting members.

The meeting concluded with a significant request from Dr. Sanjeev Mahapatra, who delivered the vote of thanks. He requested that the Australian Trade Commission consider supporting a Skill Mapping initiative on a cluster basis, with UCCIL acting as a catalyst alongside partners like the World Skill Centre and Centurion University. Miss Powell gladly accepted the request, assuring the attendees that she would actively work on the proposal.
The fruitful interactive meet, held at the UCCIL Conference hall, saw participation from prominent members including Dr. Brahma Mishra, Shri Kanhu Ranjan Prusty, Shri Gyana Ranjan Mohanty, and Dr. Kamlesh Mishra, among others, marking a promising start to the cooperative venture.
