PM Opens Mobile Congress

New Delhi: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today inaugurated the 9th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025, Asia’s largest telecom, media, and technology event, at the newly built Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in Dwarka, New Delhi.

Addressing a gathering of global leaders, policymakers, and industry experts, the Prime Minister highlighted India’s phenomenal progress in the digital and telecom sectors, asserting that the nation’s technological future is “secure in the hands of its startups and innovators.”

The four-day event, running from October 8 to 11, is being held under the theme “Innovate to Transform” and is organized jointly by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI).

PM Shri Modi noted that the IMC has rapidly evolved from a mobile and telecom event to become Asia’s largest digital technology forum, a success story driven by India’s “tech-savvy mindset” and the talent of its youth and startups.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the growth of IMC is a testament to the strength of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) vision.

He highlighted the transformation of the country’s telecom landscape, recalling that India moved from facing 2G challenges to achieving one of the fastest 5G rollouts in the world, covering nearly every district.
