Talabandha Orchards Calling!

Baripada: Get ready to immerse yourself in the natural splendor of Odisha as the renowned Talabandha Mango Orchards in Bangiriposi, Mayurbhanj district, officially open their doors to visitors starting October 15th.

Credited to the “overdrive” of Team Similipal led by Shri Satyabrata Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of the FE&CC Department, known for his emphasis on fast and efficient project implementation.

This popular ecotourism spot is celebrated for its serene natural setting and offers a perfect gateway to the magnificent Similipal Tiger Reserve.

The reopening signals the start of the prime tourism season, inviting nature lovers, photographers, and peace-seekers to experience the breathtaking beauty of “Mayurbhanj – the nature’s paradise.”

The Talabandha Nature Camp, known for its luxury accommodation options like the Maharaja A/C Tents, is a key attraction in the region. Visitors can look forward to a comfortable and enriching stay surrounded by the lush greenery of the orchards and the nearby hill ranges of Similipal.

The popular ecotourism destination of Talabandha Nature Camp, located inside the reserve in Mayurbhanj district, offers night stay facilities in Maharaja A/C Tents.

The accommodation is designed as a “Maharaja Tent,” suggesting a spacious, regal, and luxurious canvas tent structure.

Talabandha Nature Camp offer a luxurious and comfortable stay amidst the natural beauty of the Similipal region in Odisha. This accommodation provides a blend of camping ambiance with modern amenities, often referred to as “glamping.”

Night stays at the camp, along with day visits and wildlife safari vehicle bookings, can be reserved through the official Odisha Ecotourism website

The ₹4 Crore project at the Talabandha Mango Orchard represents a significant investment by the Odisha Forest Department, spearheaded by ACS Shri Sahu, to create a valuable asset for local communities and eco-tourism in the Similipal area.

This project aims to generate employment and income for the local tribals.

The entire project will be handled by community, said Regional Chief Conservator of Forest and Field Director of Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR), Shri Prakash Chand Gogineni revealed that the nature camp features 10 luxury cottages with modern amenities, a hotel, a children’s park, and a swimming pool.

Five vehicles have been arranged for the Similipal tiger safari, which will operate on the new Talabandh-Chahala route and will create employment opportunities for local youth as drivers and guides, said Shri Gogineni.

Forest and Environment Minister Shri Ganesh Ram Singkhuntia recently inaugurated the Similipal wildlife safari and Talabandha Mango Orchards at Talabandh.
