Odisha Set For WFI Benefits

New Delhi: Odisha is poised for a major boost in its food processing sector following the conclusion of the World Food India (WFI) 2025 event, organized by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI).

The state is listed among the beneficiaries of a historic nationwide investment drive, which saw 26 leading domestic and global companies sign Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) totaling an unprecedented ₹1,02,046.89 crore (approximately ₹1.02 lakh crore).

A key feature of these commitments is their pan-India geographic distribution, explicitly including Odisha alongside states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and others. This spread ensures that the benefits of the massive investment in food processing are equitably shared, creating substantial opportunities for farmers, entrepreneurs, and local communities across the states.

This influx of capital is set to reinforce the government’s vision of positioning India, and specifically key states like Odisha, as a global hub for food processing.
