BPNSI Shares Knowledge With MGM Steel

Bhubaneswar: In a move to promote knowledge and technology transfer in the steel sector, the Biju Patnaik National Steel Institute (BPNSI), an organization under the administrative control of the Ministry of Steel, Government of India, organized a one-day Knowledge Sharing Workshop at MGM Minerals Private Limited, Steel Division – II, located in Purunapani, Keonjhar.

The workshop, organized by Shri Bharat Prasad Sharma, Senior Welding Demonstrator from BPNSI, brought together experts to share insights on the latest advancements in steel production.

The key lecture of the day was delivered by Dr. Rama Krushna Sabata, an Associate Professor from IIT, Bhubaneswar. Dr. Sabata’s session focused on “Emerging Technologies of DRI production process, Steel Melting by Induction Furnace and LRF, and Metal Working (Rolling).”

The initiative aligns with the long-standing commitment of MGM Group of Industries’ CMD, Shri Pankaj Lochan Mohanty, who has consistently championed the adoption of “Green Steel” production methods to enhance energy efficiency.

ASSOCHAM Odisha State Development Committee Chairman, Shri Mohanty has always sought to integrate the latest technology and knowledge into the company’s steel-making processes, underscoring the importance of such workshops for the industry’s sustainable growth.
