Odisha Hosts IATO Meet

Puri: Odisha is in the spotlight as it hosts the 40th Annual Convention of the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), a major event for India’s tourism sector. The convention, which runs from August 22nd to 25th, 2025, in Puri, marks a significant milestone for the state and its growing tourism industry.

The event kicked off with a grand inaugural ceremony at Swosti Premium Beach Resorts, Puri. The ceremony was attended by key dignitaries, including Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister of Culture & Tourism, and Smt. Pravati Parida, Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha. Their presence highlights the strong collaboration between the central government, the state, and industry leaders to boost tourism across India.

Under the theme “Rejuvenate Inbound @2030,” the convention has attracted nearly 1,000 delegates, including national and international tour operators, investors, and media professionals. The gathering provides a crucial platform for discussions on shaping the future of inbound tourism over the next decade.

Key highlights of the convention include:

  • Business Sessions & Knowledge Exchange: Experts are leading discussions on vital topics such as sustainable tourism, cruise and film tourism, and the revitalization of Brand India.
  • Special Focus on Odisha: A dedicated session will showcase Odisha’s rich offerings in heritage, eco, coastal, and spiritual tourism. The state will also present its ambitious Vision 2036 and Vision 2047 strategies to attract more visitors.
  • Post-Convention Tours: Delegates will explore Odisha’s cultural landmarks, natural beauty, and unique tribal traditions through specially curated tours, offering a firsthand experience of the state’s diverse attractions.
  • By hosting this convention, Odisha is strengthening its position as a rising star on the global tourism map.
