MSBY: Shaping Future Of Cities

Bhubaneswar: Principal Secretary of the Housing & Urban Development Department, Smt. Usha Padhee, addressed a recent orientation for professionals from Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and District Urban Development Agencies (DUDAs), urging them to embrace the Mukhyamantri Sahari Bikas Yojana (MSBY) as a mission for the next decade.

Speaking to Engineers, MIS professionals, Accountants, and Team Leads, Smt. Padhee emphasized that urban development extends beyond infrastructure to creating dignified, inclusive, and sustainable cities.

She remarked that their current efforts are crucial for shaping the future, stating, “Our present efforts will decide whether the next generation faces challenges or inherits a better world.” The Principal Secretary added that true dignity comes not from one’s position but from knowledge.

Smt. Padhee encouraged participants to see themselves as integral partners in the system, with a prime duty to ensure it functions effectively.

The MSBY is a transformative initiative designed to strengthen ULBs and DUDAs, enabling them to provide quality services and citizen-centric governance. She urged attendees to adopt technology-driven practices, embrace innovation, and foster a sense of ownership in their work.

The orientation session, held at the SUDA Conference Hall, was marked by active participation. Also in attendance were Director Municipal Administration Shri Arindam Dakua, Director SUDA Shri Rabindra Sahoo, and other senior officers.
