Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Legislative Assembly has launched a new, user-friendly website to increase transparency and public engagement. Speaker Shrimati Surama Padhi inaugurated the website, with Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Parliamentary Affairs, and Information and Technology, also in attendance.
Several dignitaries were present at the launch, including Shri Vishal K Dev, Principal Secretary, Energy, Information and Technology; Shri Satyabrat Raut, Secretary; Odisha Legislative Assembly, Shri Pradeep Rout, CEO of OCAC; Smt. Durgesh Nandini Sahu, Additional Secretary of the Department of Parliamentary Affairs; and Shri Ashok Rout, Joint Director of NIC.
Speaker Smt.Padhi emphasized that the new platform is a significant step toward greater transparency and accountability. The website, developed with technical support from the IT and ET Department of the Government of Odisha and the National Informatics Centre (NIC), aims to provide citizens with accurate and detailed information about the Assembly’s activities, decisions, and initiatives.
This launch highlights a commitment to using technology for good governance and citizen engagement. The platform is expected to improve the Assembly’s functionality and encourage greater participation from the people of Odisha.
The new website will also be used to facilitate registration for a national-level conference for Chairpersons of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Welfare Committees. The two-day conference will be held in Bhubaneswar on August 29 and 30. The event is anticipated to be attended by the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, the Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, and members of the SC/ST Welfare Committees from Parliament and various states and union territories. Guests can register for the conference through a dedicated link on the new website.
