ADB Offers Fund Support

Bhubaneswar: Ms. MIO Oka, the Country Director for the Asian Development Bank (ADB), met with Smt. Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary of the Housing & Urban Development Department, Government of Odisha, today at Kharavela Bhawan, Bhubaneswar.

The discussion centered on a strategic technical partnership aimed at urban transformation in Odisha. A key point of the meeting was the development of a comprehensive urban mobility plan designed to promote sustainable city growth and improve the quality of life for residents.

Additionally, the ADB offered to help the department in securing funding from the Government of India’s Urban Challenge Fund. They also committed to providing technical assistance and knowledge support to address Odisha’s evolving urban development needs.

Both leaders highlighted the importance of integrated planning, innovative financing, and capacity building as crucial steps for tackling future urban challenges and enhancing the quality of life in the state’s cities. The meeting signals a strengthened collaboration for creating inclusive, resilient, and future-ready urban spaces in Odisha.
