Bhubaneswar: Shri Indramani Tripathi, Labour Commissioner and Director, Factories and Boilers, Odisha demonstrated strong leadership today as he inaugurated a state-level workshop for Labour Welfare Officers in Bhubaneswar. His address underscored the critical role of these officers in fostering industrial harmony and productivity.
In his capacity as Chief Guest at the State Labour Institute Conference Hall, Commissioner Shri Tripathi emphasized that it is the “prime social responsibility” of Labour Welfare Officers to educate workers on both their duties and their rights. He articulated a clear vision, stating that mutual sensitivity between workers and management would lead to “peace, security, efficiency and transparency” within the industrial sector, ultimately resulting in increased productivity. This highlights his understanding that a well-informed and respected workforce is fundamental to economic growth and stability.
Further cementing his leadership, Shri Tripathi presided over the distribution of certificates to 65 Labour Welfare Officers. These officers, hailing from various factories across the state, had successfully completed the training program designed to enhance their ability to implement welfare provisions outlined in the Factories Act, 1948.
By personally overseeing this significant event, Shri Tripathi not only acknowledged the efforts of the participants but also reinforced the importance of their role in the state’s industrial landscape.
