Bhubaneswar: President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, is set to embark on a two-day visit to her home state of Odisha on July 14 and 15, 2025. Her itinerary includes significant engagements in both Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
On Monday, July 14, 2025, President Smt.Murmu will grace the fifth convocation ceremony of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhubaneswar. She will preside as the Chief Guest, celebrating the academic achievements of 643 graduating healthcare professionals, including MBBS, MD/MS, DM/MCh, Post-Doctoral Fellows, BSc Nursing, BSc Paramedical, and MSc Nursing students. Dignitaries such as the Governor of Odisha, Chief Minister of Odisha, Union Minister of Education, and Odisha’s Minister of Health & Family Welfare are also expected to be present.
The following day, Tuesday, July 15, 2025, President Smt.Murmu’s engagements will shift to Cuttack. She will attend the 13th annual convocation of Ravenshaw University. Subsequently, she will lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of three buildings of the historic Ravenshaw Girls’ High School. Later in the day, the President will participate in the 600th birth anniversary celebration of Adikabi Sarala Das, organized by the Sarala Sahitya Sansad, and will present the prestigious Kalinga Ratna Award-2024.
Extensive security and logistical preparations are being made across both cities to ensure a smooth and successful visit. A high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja has already taken place, discussing arrangements for security, transportation, medical provisions, and uninterrupted power supply at all venues. President Smt.Murmu is scheduled to return to New Delhi on the evening of July 15.
