CM’s Compassion Warms Grievance Redressal

Bhubaneswar: The 12th edition of the ‘People’s Chief Minister’s Grievance Redressal Program’ was held today in Bhubaneswar, with Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi listening to the concerns of 1000 registered complainants. Seven senior ministers and various additional chief secretary and secretary-level officers were also present to assist in the program.

The Chief Minister demonstrated a compassionate approach, particularly towards differently-abled individuals, by personally approaching them to hear their grievances first. He then received complaints from other registered complainants, directing concerned department secretaries to resolve all issues. The program aims to ensure that no citizen feels helpless and that the government is accessible to the common man.

A significant aspect of the program is the Single Window System, which provides immediate medical assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for those suffering from incurable and terminal illnesses. Today alone, assistance of Rs. 9.50 lakh was approved for 10 individuals for medical expenses, bringing the total for the year to Rs. 53.50 lakh for 48 people.

The program has shown a high success rate, with 10,132 complaints resolved out of 10,894 received until the eleventh round, representing a 93% resolution rate. The remaining complaints are currently in process.

Among the prominent figures present at the grievance redressal program were Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Shri Suresh Pujari, Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahalinga, Commerce and Transport, Steel and Mines Minister Shri Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, School and Mass Education, Social Security and Empowerment of the Disabled, Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Caste Development Minister Shri Nityanand Gand, Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Minister Shri Krishna Chandra Patra Samavaya, Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts Minister Shri Pradeep Bala Samanta, and Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Labour and Employees State Insurance Minister Shri Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia.

Senior officials, including Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Shri Satyabrat Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary, Public Grievances and Public Administration Department, Shri Surendra Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Shri Deoranjan Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Shri Saswat Mishra, and other departmental secretaries, were also present to facilitate the process. Special Secretary, Chief Minister’s Grievance Redressal Cell, Shri Nihar Ranjan Dash, and other senior officers of the Public Grievances and Public Administration Department managed the program.
