New Delhi: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, today congratulated the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and other collaborating agencies for successfully dismantling a global drug cartel.
Shri Shah emphasized the Narendra Modi-led government’s unwavering commitment to eradicating drug networks and safeguarding the nation’s youth, regardless of the cartels’ operational bases.
In a statement posted on the X platform, Shri Shah lauded the operation as a “stellar example of multi-agency coordination.” The extensive probe led to the arrest of eight individuals and the seizure of five consignments.
Furthermore, the intelligence gathered triggered subsequent crackdowns in the United States and Australia against the same syndicate, which is known to operate across four continents and more than ten nations.
The Home Minister highlighted the sophisticated methods employed by these criminal organizations, noting that “Our agencies are constantly monitoring the sophisticated modes like crypto payments and anonymous drop shippers used by these gangs.”
He reiterated the government’s resolve, stating, “PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji-led govt is determined to saw off every drug cartel and protect our youth, no matter where they operate from.”
The successful operation underscores the enhanced capabilities and coordination among India’s law enforcement agencies in combating transnational drug trafficking, sending a strong message to those involved in illicit narcotics trade.
