IAS Condemn Attack On OAS

Bhubaneswar: The brutal and humiliating assault on Shri Ratnakar Sahoo, Additional Commissioner of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), has drawn strong condemnation from various quarters, including the IAS Association of Odisha.

The dedicated public servant a senior Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) was reportedly manhandled and forcibly dragged in full public view while performing his official duties, an act described as a grave personal violation and a direct attack on the dignity of public service and the authority of the State.

The incident has raised significant alarms, with concerns that such acts, if left unaddressed, could severely erode the foundations of rule of law and governance, potentially leading to a state of anarchy.

The audacious nature of the assault suggests that the perpetrators acted with a sense of impunity, leading to speculation about possible political patronage. This has further fueled worries regarding the safety of honest officers and the independence of public institutions.
