New Delhi: In a moment of significant recognition, Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman & Managing Director of Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA), was awarded the prestigious ‘CMA ICON 2025’ by The Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
The accolade was presented by Shri Sadanand Date, Director General, National Investigation Agency (NIA), during the 12th National Students’ Convocation – 2025 held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
Shri Das, who has been at the helm of IREDA since May 2020, brings a wealth of experience to his role. A Commerce Graduate from the University of Calcutta and a Management Post Graduate from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, he is also a Fellow of The Institute of Cost Accountants of India and an Associate Member of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
His impressive career spans over 38 years, marked by leadership positions in finance, banking, corporate governance, audit, resource mobilization, and disinvestment across various esteemed organizations.
Addressing the new CMAs, CMA Icon, Shri Das delivered a powerful and inspiring message, urging them to embrace the DAS Principle: Discipline, Attitude, and Simplicity.
In real life, Shri Das is a highly disciplined, simple, honest and hard working professional, pointed out a veteran IAS Officer, serving as Secretary in the Union Government.
CMD IREDA, Shri Das emphasized this principle as a foundational mantra for both professional excellence and personal fulfillment. He also took the opportunity to award medals to the CMA rank-holders, commending their outstanding achievements.
Adding to the commendations, Dr. Bijay Kumar Mohanty, Director (Finance) at IREDA, received a Certificate of Appreciation from The Institute of Cost Accountants of India, acknowledging his valuable contributions to the profession.
