Cuttack: In a powerful display of solidarity and a tribute to social justice, the Students’ Congress in Cuttack organized a special screening of the film “Phule” today at Vrindavan Hall, coinciding with Rahul Gandhi’s birthday. The event drew over 200 enthusiastic students, who left inspired to champion societal change.

The atmosphere was charged with purpose as Students’ Congress President Udit Pradhan addressed the gathering. Extending birthday wishes to Rahul Gandhi, also the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Pradhan drew parallels between the historical struggles of Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule and Gandhi’s contemporary efforts. “Just as Jyotiba and Savitribai Phule fearlessly raised their voices against social injustice, illiteracy, and atrocities against women in their time,” Shri Pradhan stated, “Rahul Gandhi is now continuing that fight across the country for the caste census and women’s justice.”

The film “Phule,” which delves into the lives and work of the iconic social reformers, resonated deeply with the young audience. Following the screening, a palpable sense of empowerment filled the hall as students collectively declared in unison, “I am also Rahul Gandhi, I can also bring about a change in society.” This powerful affirmation underscored their commitment to social reform and justice.

The event saw the participation of several prominent Congress leaders, Manas Choudhury, State Youth Congress President Ranjit Patra, Biplab Shilladitya, and Mohammad Imdad.
