Vedanta Aluminium’s Healing Touch

Sundargarh: Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, recently organized a mega health camp at Mundherkhet Gram Panchayat Office in Hemgir block, Sundargarh district, Odisha. This initiative provided free healthcare services to over 200 beneficiaries from Mundherkhet, Jharpalam, Garjanjore, and nearby Gram Panchayats.

The camp was inaugurated by Chinmay Kumar Mishra, Assistant Executive Engineer, Hemgir, and Sanyasi Bag, Sarpanch, Munderkhet GP. It offered a wide range of specialized consultations and check-ups, including orthopaedics, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, dermatology, ENT, and chest and tuberculosis care. Crucially, medicines were distributed free of cost. In addition to medical services, the camp also featured awareness sessions on hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention to promote long-term community well-being.

Sunil Gupta, COO, Vedanta Aluminium, emphasized the company’s commitment to accessible healthcare, stating, “Through such mega health camps, we strive to bolster rural healthcare and create a lasting positive impact on the well-being of our communities.” He added that Vedanta would continue to partner with the district administration to organize more such health interventions.

Sanyasi Bag, Sarpanch, Munderkhet GP, expressed gratitude for the camp, highlighting the challenge of accessing quality healthcare in their area, particularly for the elderly and women. He noted that the camp ensured residents received quality medical care without having to leave their village.
