Bhubaneswar: In a significant step towards digitally empowering startups, Startup Odisha today announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PhonePe Private Limited.
The partnership aims to provide startups registered with Startup Odisha seamless access to PhonePe’s digital payment and business technology services, fostering ease of doing business and accelerated growth.
The MoU was formally signed at O-Hub, the headquarters of Startup Odisha, by Kamaljit Das, Chief Administrative Officer, Startup Odisha, and Yuvraj Singh Shekhawat, Chief Business Officer, Merchant Business at PhonePe Private Limited.
This collaboration reflects the vision of Hemant Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), MSME and Chairman, Startup Odisha, who has been instrumental in forging global and national corporate partnerships to nurture the state’s startup ecosystem.
Shri Sharma’s strategic approach focuses on fostering innovation, building institutional linkages, and creating impactful opportunities for startups.
Under the agreement, Startup Odisha will refer eligible startups to PhonePe, which will then provide onboarding support and access to its cutting-edge digital infrastructure. Startups will benefit from PhonePe’s diverse services, including payment technology solutions, marketing, and promotional support, subject to the platform’s onboarding policies and verification processes.
This MoU is set to facilitate seamless digital payment services for startups across various platforms, thereby promoting a cashless and technology-driven business environment in Odisha.
The partnership underscores Startup Odisha’s commitment to building a digitally inclusive and innovation-driven startup ecosystem, further solidifying Odisha’s position as a leading startup hub in India.
