Panic Over Plus II Results Delay

Bhubaneswar: A wave of panic has gripped students across Odisha as the results of the Plus Two examinations remain unreleased, coinciding with the deadline for Plus Three admission applications. The last date to apply for Plus Three admissions is May 20th, leaving many aspirants in a state of uncertainty.

The mismatch has highlighted a perceived lack of coordination between the Department of Higher Education and the Department of School & Mass Education. The Plus Two examinations are conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), which falls under the Department of School & Mass Education. Meanwhile, Plus Three admissions are the responsibility of the Higher Education Department.

Students are anxious as they are unable to apply for Plus Three courses without their Plus Two results. This situation is causing significant stress and raising concerns about potential delays in the academic year.

School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond has stated that the Plus Two results are expected to be announced within the next two days. He also mentioned that the state government plans to request the Higher Education Department to extend the Plus Three application deadline.

“We will certainly discuss with the Higher Education Department regarding an extension of the deadline. If any students are facing difficulties, we will work to resolve them so that they can complete their admission process without any issues,” he said.

The Minister has urged students and parents to remain calm. Over 3.9 lakh students appeared for the Plus Two examinations
