Hike In Minimum Wage

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today approved a proposal to increase the minimum daily wage for workers in Odisha by Rs. 10.

The announcement made today, reflects Shri Majhi’s stated commitment to prioritizing the welfare of the working class. This increased wage will be implemented retrospectively from 1 April.

CMO released a statement emphasizing Shri Majhi’s dedication to the workers’ interests. “Chief Minister Shri Majhi, known for his people-centric approach, has approved this increment keeping in mind the financial constraints faced by the labor force,” the statement read.

The revised minimum daily wage structure, effective immediately, is as follows:

  • Unskilled workers: Increased from Rs. 452 to Rs. 462
  • Semi-skilled workers: Increased from Rs. 502 to Rs. 512
  • Skilled workers: Increased from Rs. 552 to Rs. 562
  • Highly skilled workers: Increased from Rs. 602 to Rs. 612
