3 New Civil Judge Courts Constituted

Bhubaneswar: In a move aimed at enhancing access to justice and reducing the burden on existing judicial infrastructure, the state government has announced the constitution of three new Civil Judge Courts (Junior Division) in Odisha.

These new courts have been established at Baliapal in Balasore district, Lefripada in Sundargarh district, and Rengali in Sambalpur district.

The decision to establish these courts comes following consultations between the State Government and the Odisha High Court, underscoring a collaborative effort to strengthen the State’s Judicial framework.

The official notification regarding the constitution of these courts was issued after Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi granted his approval to the proposed amendment.

This significant development is expected to provide much-needed relief to the existing Civil Judge Courts in the respective districts by decentralizing the handling of cases at the junior division level.

Residents of Baliapal, Lefripada, and Rengali will now have dedicated judicial forums closer to their homes, potentially leading to speedier resolution of civil disputes.

With the establishment of these new Judicial bodies, the jurisdiction of all other Junior Division Civil Judge Courts that previously held authority over these revenue tehsils has now ceased.

This jurisdictional shift ensures a clear demarcation of responsibilities and streamlines the judicial process within these newly constituted court areas.

The State Government’s proactive step in establishing these new Civil Judge Courts (Junior Division) reflects its commitment to ensuring efficient and accessible justice delivery for all citizens of Odisha.

The move is likely to be welcomed by legal professionals and the general public alike in the concerned regions. Further details regarding the operational commencement of these courts are expected to be announced in due course.
