Bhubaneswar: Additional Chief Secretary Forest, Environment and Climate Change Satyabrata Sahu emphasized on the timely disposal of public grievance applications.
A review meeting of the Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department was held on 11 April in which Additional Chief Secretary Shri Sahu reviewed the work of the department in details.
He directed the departmental officers to pay attention to the speedy resolution of the complaints received from the Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell and the Jana Sunani portal.
Additional Chief Secretary Shri Sahu directed to give priority to all contempt of court cases to avoid the presence of the Chief Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary in the court.
Retirement pension will be given to the retired employees of the department on the day of retirement. A total of 432 applications have been received in the RACP or MACP courts.
FE&CC Department has written to the Odisha Public Service Commission to conduct examinations for the posts of 45 Assistant Conservator of Forests, 131 Range Officers and the Odisha Subordinate Staff Selection Commission to conduct examinations for the posts of 1677 Forest Guards in the state.
The department is taking steps to fill up the posts of 2 Assistant Conservator of Forests, 130 Range Officers, 160 Junior Assistants and 890 Forest Guards.
Additional Chief Secretary Shri Sahu expressed that tunnel aquarium, rejuvenation of Kanjia Lake, animal exchange program, botanical garden, ropeway, metro station Nandankanan, Nandankanan R.D. road will be taken up in the Nandankanan Biological Park complex.
Valuable red sandalwood will be sold through global tenders under the Odisha Forest Development Corporation initiative. Two big boats and a solar-powered boat are going to be introduced for tourists in Chilika by the Chilika Development Authority.
Additional Chief Secretary Shri Sahu directed that more number of picnic spots of the state should be made plastic-free under the State Pollution Control Board initiative.
ACS Shri Sahu stressed on the timely utilisation of funds placed in the budget for different projects.
In this review meeting held through video conferencing, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and HoFF, Suresh Pant, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) and Chief Wildlife Warden Prem Kumar Jha, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Project Director, Odisha Forest Area Development Project, Mita Biswal, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Kenduleaf) and Member Secretary of the State Pollution Control Board Mrs. Uma Nanduri, Additional Secretary, Deben Pradhan, Joint Secretary Dharam Hansda, Additional Secretary Usharani Das, Joint Secretary Dinakrishna Kar and all other senior officers of the department were present.
