Keonjhar: Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for establishment of a mega steel plant in mineral rich and tribal dominated Keonjhar district likely to be signed during Utkarsh Odisha conclave to be held here on 28-29 January.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed this to Meedia here on 14 January.
Apart from development road connectivity, drinking water supply, health and education sectors, Shri Majhi said he has been giving priority to the establishment of a mega steel plant in his home district Keonjhar from the very beginning.
The CM said he is focusing on signing of the MoU for setting up of a mega steel plant in the district during the Utkarsh Odisha: Make in Odisha conclave.
As Keonjhar district has reserves of different mineral resources like iron, manganese, chromites, and dolomite, there is a need to set up industries in the district, he pointed out. Shri Majhi said he is hopeful that the MoU would be signed during the conclave.
Earlier, the CM had informed that JSW Group and South Korean Steel Major POSCO will jointly set up a greenfield steel facility in his home district of Keonjhar.
