Bhubaneswar: The 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas was celebrated at The Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar. The temple town was decorated with colorful lights. On the occasion of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, Odisha Exhibition Centre has been constructed in the exhibition organized at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar. Pravasi Bharatiyas gathered in the Odisha Exhibition Centre to get acquainted with the art and culture of Odisha.

Various aspects of Odia Culture have been showcased in the Odisha Exhibition Centre. From the history of ancient Odisha to the history of modern Odisha, from the Kalinga war and the Paik rebellion, the glorious saga of Odisha getting the status of a special province has been beautifully displayed. Folk art, paintings, classical and folk dances, traditional instruments and music, festivals of Odisha have also been exhibited in the exhibition hall.

Pictures of Rath Jatra and gold ornaments of Trinity have also been displayed in the Centre and the Konark Chakra has also been placed. Apart from this, photographs of eminent personalities and eminent litterateurs of Odisha, culture of tribal communities, handicrafts of Odisha, pipili famous applique, pattachitra, handloom, textile, famous pat and Sambalpuri sarees have also been kept.

In particular, the glorious maritime tradition of Odisha and the naval trade journey of the sadhus’ sons have been shown through digital maps.

The Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture has provided detailed details related to Odisha through a digital wikipedia.

Principal Secretary Odia Language, Literature and Culture, Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra, Director Culture Bijaya Ketan Upadhyay took all care for the setting up of Exhibition Centre

A digital quiz has also been arranged in the exhibition room covering the history, culture, festivals and tourist places of Odisha, which has become a center of attraction for the indian diaspora and providing information about Odisha.

On the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, the Odisha Exhibition Hall has won the hearts of all the NrIs.

Apart from this, the Indian diaspora has also enjoyed the Rajrani Sangeet, Mukteshwar Dance and International Odissi Dance Festival organized in Bhubaneswar.

The Odisha Exhibition Room, organised by the Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture, and rajrani music, Mukteshwar Dance and International Odissi Dance Festival aim to promote odisha’s art and culture in a big way.
