PM Wishes CM On Birth Day

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on his 53rd Birth Day and lauded him as hard working CM.

In a post on X, Shri Modi said, “Greetings to the hardworking Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Mohan Charan Manjhi on his birthday. A grassroots leader, he has been at the forefront of public service and empowering the poor. He is making noteworthy efforts for Odisha’s progress. Praying for his long and healthy life.”

The Prime Minister also wished Shri Majhi while addressing at the foundation stone laying event of the Rayagada Railway Division building in Odisha through virtual mode.

The Chief Minister thanked PM Shri Modi for his warm wishes and said, “Respected Prime Minister Shri @narendramodiJi, I am deeply grateful for your kind words and wishes. We are dedicated to the progress of Odisha and the welfare of its people. Your guidance continues to inspire us in our journey of public service.”

In his message to Shri Majhi, the Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati said: “May you be blessed with good health, happiness, and continued success in serving the people. Wishing you a year ahead filled with progress and prosperity.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in a post on X, said under the leadership of PM Modi, “you (Majhi) are giving new direction and acceleration to public welfare and development in Odisha.”

Among others, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Jual Oram and Dharmendra Pradhan also greeted Shri Majhi on his first birth day, after being sworn in as the Chief Minister in June this year.  

He was born in Raikala village in tribal-dominated and mineral-rich Keonjhar district. Majhi, the son of a watchman, has been elected to the State Legislative Assembly four times – 2000, 2004, 2019 and 2024.

Shri Majhi, a graduate, was the village head from 1997-2000. He was also the secretary of the BJP’s Adivasi Morcha before being elected as an MLA from Keonjhar in 2000.
