Bhubaneswar : The Inter Media Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC) – Odisha Region, held its monthly meeting today at the PIB Bhubaneswar office to strategize the communication and publicity activities for the upcoming 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) 2025, which will be hosted in Odisha for the first time from January 8 to 10, 2025.
The meeting, chaired by Akhil Kumar Mishra, Additional Director General, PIB and CBC Bhubaneswar, emphasized the vital role of IMPCC, a forum under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, in ensuring coordinated communication strategies for government events. “This session has been called to discuss the monumental event of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, where we aim to align our ideas and enhance coordination to ensure its grand success,” said Shri Mishra.
Deba Prasad Dash, Joint Secretary of the Odia Language, Literature & Culture Department, Government of Odisha, outlined the state government’s preparations to ensure the smooth conduct of the event. He highlighted the collaborative efforts between the Odisha Government and the Ministry of External Affairs, aiming to leave no stone unturned in making the event a resounding success.
Shri Dash also mentioned that a range of cultural activities, such as the Adivasi Mela, Mukteswar Dance Festival, and Rajarani Music Festival, would be held to showcase Odisha’s rich cultural heritage. He said, the state government has made extensive logistical, protocol and security arrangements, as over 7,000 delegates are expected to attend the event.
Prof. Anand K. Pradhan, Regional Director of IIMC Dhenkanal, stressed the importance of strategic communication in such high-profile events. He noted that the effective dissemination of information is crucial to creating widespread awareness and engagement with the event.
The meeting also saw participation from key officials including Santosh Kumar Das, Additional Director; Laxman Kumar Behera, DIPRO of the I&PR Department; Dr. Abhishek Mishra, Head, RNU Doordarshan; Prakash Dash, Deputy Director, AIR; Prem Singh, Passport Officer; Aneesa T.A, Assistant Director, MPEDA; Bhagya Ranjan Jena, AD (PR) BSNL; Dr. Laxmidhar Behera, Professor & Head, RIE; Subash Chhetri, State Director, KVIC; Jagadish Sahoo, MSME DO; and Pankaj Kumar Das, ASI.
The meeting was concluded by Dr. Girish Chandra Dash, Director, CBC Bhubaneswar, who delivered the valedictory address and offered vote of thanks. The event was moderated by Shri M.K. Jali, Deputy Director, PIB Bhubaneswar.
The session provided an opportunity for various government departments to come together, sharing insights and strategies to ensure the prestigious Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2025 is celebrated on a grand scale.
