Bhadrak: In preparation for the potential impact of Cyclone “Dana” in Odisha, the state government, has made all necessary arrangements to safeguard public safety. Minister Suryabanshi Suraj visited Bhadrak on 23 October to review the cyclone preparedness measures through administrative meetings, followed by a review at the Dhamra Port area.
Minister Shri Suraj stayed overnight in Dhamra and held discussions with port officials on the various safety protocols in place in oder to address the potential cyclone threat.
Today, he visited several cyclone shelters in areas such as Guasol, Dhira Sahi, Nachipur, Bijayapatna, Karuna Panchayat and Kuamara, reviewing the arrangements for public safety, food supplies, drinking water, medical facilities and sanitation. He interacted with the shelter residents, advising them not to panic and assuring them that the government would provide all necessary assistance and support to them.
Regarding his visit, Minister Shri Suraj stated, “We are fully prepared to handle the impact of cyclone ‘Dana.’ Public safety and Zero causality is our top priority”.
He also mentioned that due to the high likelihood of the cyclone passing through the Dhamra region, residents are being relocated to cyclone shelters on a priority basis.
The shelters are equipped with essential facilities, including dry food stocks and cooked meals for the residents. Emergency medical services, along with mobile teams of doctors and ASHA workers, are monitoring the health conditions of those staying in the shelters.
He appealed to People not to get panic and should adhere to the administrative guidelines. “Ensuring the safety and well-being of the people is our priority”, said Shri Suraj.
